The National Institute of Occupational Health, the premier Institute which engaged in intensive research in occupational health has to take cognizance of  the changed scenario and the newer challenges the workforce of the nation is likely to face in the years to come. The Institute foresees its vision to create Safe Work Environment by Quality Support Systems in resolving problems and promoting health and safety at workplaces.

NIOH views to expand its activities in the Asia-pacific region for occupational health and safety (OHS) research and services to strive accomplish the value of health and safety through pursuing multi-pronged approach in research to application.

Also it views to re-examine the broad framework of the Institute to consolidate its functions and activities, and to embark upon the newer challenges.  In order to reach it goal of service to the industry, it plans to achieve a symbiotic relationship with the host communities (local industry, MNC, WHO, ILO, etc.) towards achieving the target.

The NIOH plans to play a greater role in public awareness and education in OHS in the country.

To achieving  the objectives of the institute NIOH is having state of art infrastructure to fulfill the needs, which playas important role in area of research and development work.
