Occupational Exposure to Heavy Metals

Occupational exposures to metals were evaluated in a number of industries such as printing press, type foundries, ceramic and pottery foundries, battery reconditioning shops, garage workers, mining and smelting plants, silver foundries and refinery, etc. In some of the units like smelting, printing press, battery reconditioning shops, refinery etc. the lead exposure was observed to be higher than the TLV. Appropriate preventive measures were suggested to minimize the lead exposure in these industries.
